A math major without a disability complains to the Chair of the Mathematics Department that she is not getting the instruction she needs in her Advanced Calculus class because a student with a disability takes up so much time in class. The Chair tries to explain to her that the professor is following the law and accommodating the student with the disability who, while she may actually be the smartest person in the class, takes longer to process information than most of the other students. The student is still dissatisfied. She cannot understand why she should suffer to take care of another person’s needs.
