We encourage you to download some or all of the FAME modules for use at your institution. FAME content can also be customized for your specific needs. Many types of web page authoring software such as Dreamweaver or Frontpage will work for this purpose. (Please see the Statement of Use & How to Cite for guidance before proceeding.) Instructions for downloading each (or all) modules follow. If you do customize FAME, please do not replace the download links to the origin FAME site. You may add download links on this page to your FAME packages, if you desire.
Instructions: All FAME modules
- Click to download all five FAME modules: download
- Click Save. You can indicate which directory on your computer to save to.
- When the download is complete, click Open folder. If it doesn't open automatically, then navigate on your hard drive to the folder where the FAME .zip file was saved.
- Double click on the Fame .zip file to extract. (Or, with Microsoft Windows, right click and select Extract to..)
- Click on the FAME file folder icon to view the files contained within.
- To access the program, you will just need to click to open the Start.html file.
Instructions: Individual FAME modules
The Base FAME Structure zip file contains the top level FAME content as well as the graphics and HTML pages used in common across all FAME modules. In addition, it contains 'stub' folders for each of the five modules; the stubs will point back automatically to the origin FAME site. You can download an individual FAME module and replace the stub folder with the contents of the downloaded folder.
- Click to download the base FAME structure: download
- Click Save. You can indicate which directory on your computer to save to.
- When the download is complete, click Open folder. If it doesn't open automatically, then navigate on your hard drive to the folder where the base FAME structure .zip file was saved.
- Double click on the Fame. zip file to extract. (Or, with Microsoft Windows, right click and select Extract to..)
- Click on desired module(s) from the list below.
- Click Save. You can indicate which directory on your computer to save to.
- When the download is complete, click Open folder. If it doesn't open automatically, then navigate on your hard drive to the folder where the FAME module .zip file was saved.
- Double click on the Fame. zip file to extract. (Or, with Microsoft Windows, right click and select Extract to..)
- Copy and paste (or drag-and-drop) the module folder (name 'rr', 'udl', 'web', 'cw', or 'ca') into the top level folder of the Base FAME Structure. If prompted to replace files, select "yes"
Video Note
The video portion of FAME in the downloaded modules makes use of streaming media services provided by OhioLINK. The video files are not available for download from the FAME origin site at this time. Please contact info@OhioLINK.edu for assistance with receiving the streaming media content and mounting it at your institution.
