Instructor Profile
You've been an instructor of American History for six years. In that time, you have worked with many students with disabilities, most of them students with learning disabilities or ADHD. Once, you had a student with a visual impairment that used optical magnification, but the student handled the accommodation herself. In most cases, the main accommodation recommended by your DSS office seems to have been extended time for testing. This has been easy for you to implement through the DSS office.
You utilize a variety of different teaching methods including:- A collection of online readings on your department's website in PDF format
- Online resources at websites outside your institutional website
- A variety of paperback readings
- Textbook
- In-class discussion
- Group projects that focus on historical critique
- In-class videos
- Guest lecturers
- Participation in an historical reenactment society
You are a very popular instructor and your class is always well attended (if not because it is required). Your grading process consists of:
- 3 multiple choice tests (100 points each)
- 2 papers (100 points each)
- 1 group project (100 points)
- in class participation (100 points)
- extra credit (including participating in the reenactment) 50 points
