Description:

This OLN LCI initiative will serve as a test project for the integration of PDA technology for the Hiram community. If successful, we will recommend PDA technology across campus as a way to meet a major goal of the Technology Advisory Committee: "Students will see a consistent level of technology used in their courses, and their interface to the technology will be similar from course to course." The learning community goals and objectives are to:

a. Develop online modules that utilize environmentally based resources, the Hiram College Community Gardens and the James H. Barrow Field Station as teaching resources;

b. Integrate PDA technology into both science and non-science classrooms and everyday use in a pilot program fostering professor, student and staff partnerships;

c. Provide workshops on the use of technology and technology resources in gardening and ecology; and

d. Enhance and adapt our websites for PDA use.
