Description:

The goals of this community include:

  • Enhance student’s knowledge of Standards-based science content, methods of inquiry-based science delivery and the integration of technology in the teaching-learning process. This will allow future teachers to engage their students' interest, and intellect in developing an understanding of and appreciation for science.
  • Improve student awareness and use of emerging technologies that are simple, mobile, inexpensive and equitable.
  • Develop online science lesson modules that integrate an inquiry-based approach to learning with current and emerging handheld technologies. The target courses are Sedimentary Petrology and Stratigraphy, Discovering the Ice Age, Science Methods, and General Ecology and Introduction to Ecology laboratory courses
  • Develop a web site to disseminate information and share the developed modules.
