Description:

This project will result in a model of distance learning that can be used by both full-time and part-time faculty in helping them structure their distance learning courses. It will also provide a consolidated set of resources related to teaching, learning, and delivery of distance learning. It will include a set of resources for technology information as well as for information on the scholarship of teaching. This project will result in a collection of on-line resources: o An “Idea Center” for distance educators on how to facilitate on-line discussions and bulletin board postings o A “Technology Resource Center” for finding answers to technology-related questions and issues o An on-line course/module will be provided for learning about the history and evolution of distance education and for experiencing the on- line learning process. This will be particularly useful for maintaining role models for new faculty and for part-time faculty interested in distance learning.
