  • Commercial Content
    • Per OLN Governing Board, OLN should offer courses in the OhioLEARNS! catalog that have been purchased from commercial vendors and supported by Ohio colleges and universities - moved and seconded and the policy motion carried. 
  • Post-secondary Options - Walters volunteered to take this issue back to OBR.
  • Membership
    • OLN membership remains limited to those institutions specified by the Bylaws
  • Statewide Licensing
    • Board supports Blackboard licensing and offering both WebCT and Blackboard training with OLN funds.
  • Assessment
    • Per Walters of OBR, OLN could wait until 2002 to do this appraisal.
  • Grants Guidelines
    • "Principal investigators must be affiliated with an Ohio college or university" was inserted; the motion carried to approve guidelines
PROJECT UPDATES
  • Professional Development
    • $1.2 million of professional development grants were released in recent competition.
  • Ohio Learning Intranet (OLI):
    • OLI meeting will be held October 23-24 at the Columbus Convention Center.
  • Emerging Degrees
    • Engineering Deans to discuss distance learning for engineering and engineering technology students in 2- and 4-year institutions on July 21
    • OLN will transfer $100,000 to Wright State University - Regents' Scholars program
  • Marketing Update
    • OLN purchased radio time across Ohio for advertising spots in late July and early August
BUDGET
  • Carey presented a formal FY01 budget - motion for the approval of the entire budget carried
  • OLN executive committee concerning budget recommendations for Higher Education for FY 2002-2003 will be formed.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, September 12 from 1:30-3:30 PM at 2455 North Star Road.
