Digital Resource CommonsWithin the ODCE framework, the goal of the Ohio Digital Resource Commons (DRC) is to empower researchers, learners, and instructors from a diverse array of institutions with a content repository service that enables the broad and rapid creation of and comprehensive access to the wealth of research, instructional, historic, and creative materials produced by Ohio’s scholarly communities. Recognizing that a repository service with a robust overlay of applications is expensive and as such is out of the reach of many institutions, the DRC aggregates technology expenses (hardware, software and staff) at a consortium level. This allows institutions to focus on the creation of new content and the most important task, the evolution of our learning and research practices across member institutions to capitalize on the shared technology made available to the consortium.
